About Youth Ministry at Atonement

Youth Ministry can not be focused around trips and pizza. It has to be focused around God. Change happens when people encounter God. ~ Harvey Carey, SHIFT 2009

Our Mission

The mission of Atonement Lutheran Church is to offer Jesus Christ, a life of discipleship and a faith community to all people. The Youth Ministry Team has expanded on this mission, emphasizing the importance of building a faith community in which all youth feel welcome and inspired to grow in faith.

Mission: Thunder Bay!

Did you know 15% of the population in Thunder Bay is homeless?

August 1, 37 youth and 7 adults travel to Thunder Bay,  Canada for our summer mission trip! We are excited for this opportunity to serve others, grow in faith, and grow our relationships with one another. Would you pray for us? As we head to Thunder Bay, we ask that our Atonement family pray for our experience.

Some of our prayer requests include:

Safe travels, health and wellness, that our hearts be opened to serving others, that our eyes be opened to the      difficulty people face, that we grow our relationship with Jesus, that the students become a church family,  that our hearts be broken and our attitudes be challenged by what we encounter.

Our Vision

Our vision is a comprehensive program, focused on our Wednesday night teaching sessions for Torch, Ignite, Shine and Elevate. From the Wednesday night sessions, we will continue our mission of building community through service activities, events, and programs which encourage a life of discipleship and faith in Jesus Christ. It is our goal to offer a variety of opportunities that reach out to all students, their friends and their families. We will partner with and encourage families in their faith and life, and help adult leaders and mentors guide students in growing their faith.

Finally, we will offer a ministry focused on living a life of service to our world and community in the name of Christ, offering His love to those around us.
