Confirmation

Requirements

The service of Confirmation is held in October of the 10th Grade Year. Prior to being confirmed, the following requirements must be met:

• Attend Elevate each Wednesday during September and October (8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.)
• Choose a Bible Verse of meaning
• Write a 2 - 3 page Faith Paper in which you answer the following questions:

                  - What is Faith? What role does it play in your life?
                  - How has your faith grown or changed during Confirmation?
                  - When you get confirmed, you are making a promise to God. How are you going to live (or try 
                     to live) as a Christian? How will your life look different?
                  - What was your favorite or most influential part of Confirmation?
                  - Include your Confirmation verse and why you chose it.

• Have a faith talk with one of the staff or pastors
• Attend the Elevate retreat (October 22 - 23, 2009)

• Confirmation Dinner (October 30, 2009 -  6:00 p.m.)
• Confirmation Service: Sunday, October 31, 2009 - 2:00 p.m.

Confirmation Weekend

The weekend of Confirmation is very special and intensive at Atonement. We start the Confirmation event with a two day retreat. At the retreat, we have Bible studies, worship time, and a little fun! The following weekend, we have a special dinner for all Confirmands and their families. At this dinner, the youth share their Bible verses, memories about confirmation, and some of their papers. We also take the time to recognize small group leaders for their commitment to the program and the youth. On Sunday afternoon, the service of Confirmation is held. This is a special event for all.
