A look at Lent!

Lent Worship Schedule
12:15p - Traditional Service in the Sanctuary
6:30p - Contemporary Service with Dramas in the ARK

Atonement has a long history of presenting dramas of the life of Jesus during the season of Lent. The dramas tell many of the stories of Jesus and are held on Wednesday evenings, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The rehearsal for the drama is on Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:30 p.m. This year, Ash Wednesday is Feb.17th. Dinner is available prior to rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. This year the Lenten service with the drama will be at 6:30 p.m. in the ARK.

Actors Needed
Pastor Dale is looking for new people to be in this year’s dramas. No acting experience is necessary. Most parts are simply crowd participants. It is a great way to learn the stories of Jesus, meet other people, have some fun and get to participate in something significant. If you are interested sign up at the connection center. Children grade 7 and older are welcome any week. Only a few younger children are used each week. If you sign up, you will be called the week you are needed.

Set-up Crew needed! A great way to help with the Lenten Dramas is by participating in the set crew. We create the set on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and tear it down on Thursday mornings at 9:00. Set-up takes about an hour, tear down is quicker. But then we have to have coffee. This is a great way to meet other people and participate in the drama ministry.

Noon Worship
Each Wednesday during Lent, we will offer a noon soup and sandwich lunch at 11:30 a.m. with a worship service at 12:15 p.m. During our worship time we will be reading and teaching on the theme of “Living in the True Grace of God” from the book of 1 Peter. If it’s hard to get out in the evening, or you just really like the noon hour for your Lenten meditation, this is the perfect opportunity of worship for you.
